We are looking for Plant Process Operators to work with a leading cleantech development and environmental services company, who develops biocarbon and renewable energy solutions. With exceptional capabilities across their business units, they are well-established at the forefront of sustainable solutions in RNG, Hydrogen and Biogas.
The job holder will play an important role to engage and lead the activities in the plant related to large scale, complex high temperature pyrolysis, renewable natural gas, and hydrogen plants. This position will be the first hire in the plant that will be staffed to support high volume, 7 days/week activity. The person in this position has the opportunity to grow with the company and potentially develop into a management position, leading the fully staffed operations team.
This is a permanent position, based in Toronto, Ontario.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor the equipment and systems used in the production of renewable natural gas and biocarbon.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment functionality and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Manage the storage and distribution of both feedstock and finished biocarbon products.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and ensure efficiency.
- Implement and adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain detailed logs and records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and any incidents or accidents that occur.
- Respond quickly and effectively to any emergencies or breakdowns in the production process.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating RNG and decarbonizing facilities.
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies and processes.
- Ability to interpret and follow technical manuals and diagrams.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with relevant computer software and systems.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and weekends, as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Performs complex calculations and applies standards correctly without supervision. Takes lead when works with peers.
- Reviews the work of engineers and designers developing engineering and design documents as needed for the project.
- Possesses critical analytical skills and is adept at utilizing good decision making tool; high level of data analysis skills.
- Regularly performs reviews of vendor documents to ensure specifications and data sheet requirements are met.
- Leads mid to large-size project or proposals.
- Develops and leads others in ways of improving the design and lowering cost.
- Considers multiple solutions and makes good decisions based on good data analysis.
- Manages several different assignments simultaneously.
- Applies techniques/technologies to improve processes and business results.

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering minimum required.
- 10-20 year minimum relevant experience in energy, midstream, refining and petrochemical industries.
- Capable of self directed work with limited supervision.
- Experienced in providing guidance, leadership and training to less experienced engineers.
- Capable and experienced in leading small teams to complete task/design on project.
- Work with project team as representative and coordinates work within discipline department.
- Adjusts to varying demands of work and performs well.
