Electrician

The role of Electrician is responsible for the installation and testing of Zone II pressurised and non-pressurised offshore modules across all types of equipment for use in hazardous areas. Responsible for ensuring the safety of equipment in operation and that the necessary periodic and statutory inspections required on items of plant and equipment is performed effectively. The position must support in the overall delivery of Global Energy Groups business objectives through the aligning of deliverables to that of the Aiken Business Unit strategy.

Responsibilities

Install and test Zone II pressurised and non-pressurised offshore modules including new builds, refurbishments and upgrades
Install all types of equipment suitable for use in hazardous areas
Conduct Ex inspections on and offshore
Identify faults and perform maintenance to resolve
Perform Inspection and Testing
Perform commissioning and factory acceptance testing of Zone II modules
Work to and update drawings as required
Provision and control of all Maintenance Records.
Recommendations for appropriate equipment purchase when required by management.
Ensure that all electrical equipment being used meets the requirements of the portable appliance regulations, IEE Wiring Regulations, Electricity at Work Act, and Health & Safety at Work Act.
Assisting in the calibration of in-house electrical equipment where require
Application of relevant quality/safety procedures in daily activities.
Report to Workshop Manager hazards and any areas where the existing health, safety and environmental arrangements fail to adequately reduce risks to an acceptable level.

Any other duty which, from time to time, may reasonably be required to meet the needs of Global Energy Group and is within the remit of this post.
Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory

Relevant Trade qualified; SVQ/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
Relevant experience in similar role
Full driving licence
Offshore certification (BOSIET/FOET. MIST etc)
