HSE Coordinator Job

Job DescriptionOverview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently seeking to recruit a competent HSSE Coordinator (Night Shifts) with extensive experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical industry to advise and enforce site construction activities with regard to HSSE management on the Al-Zour Refinery Project.
Advise, assist and report to the HSSE Manager on all matters of operational safety, health and environmental impactConfirm all HSSE team members are suitably qualified, experienced and competent including advise and control the activities of site HSSE personnelBe aware of the requirements of the Project HSSE management system, procedures and working instructionsProduce weekly HSSE reports for the HSSE Manager, which adhere to the standard Wood HSSE reporting structureAdvise construction management on aspects of safety, health, welfare and environmental protectionCarry out HSSE inspections, in conjunction with appropriate levels of management, to verify that codes of practice, Company procedures, method statements, risk assessments and arrangements are complied withConfirm all subcontractors adhere to company procedures with regard to all aspects of HSSEUse of appropriate levels of staffing, ensure compliance with codes of practice to suitably manage the health, safety and welfare of all subcontractor staffAdvise on the production of written method statements, risk assessments and site HSSE rules and on the arrangements to bring these to the attention of the workforceInvestigate accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences and make suitable recommendations to prevent any recurrenceAdhere to standard Wood HSSE reporting procedure and to Assist with the HSSE training needs and monitor its delivery and recordingSuggest methods and aids to promote awareness of injury prevention and environmental protectionKeep up-to-date with current legislation, codes of practice and client requirements for the safe management of all workforceLiaise with the HSSE Manager and Construction Manager with regard to all aspects of construction HSSEAdvise the Construction Manager and Superintendent of suitable best practices for the management and control of all HSSE matters
Skills / Qualifications
Must be a graduate of BSc in EngineeringMinimum 20 years industrial experience with 5 years’ experience in similar positionTrack record (past 10 years) experience in PMC / EPC organizations in the field of refinery / petrochemical industries and must have handled health / safety / environmental-related activities related to major projects of value not less than US$500 million eachExemplary organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and completed delegated tasks appropriatelyExcellent written, verbal and presentation skills, particularly the ability to communicate in a multidisciplinary project contextFlexible and able to work with people with different cultural backgroundsAspire to excellence, self-starter and motivated individualAbility to perform under minimal supervisionGood attention to detail
