What you will do
Handle field-related operations in a lubricant or grease manufacturing facility, which include but not limited to the following:
Raw materials receipts and preparation
Pre-mix blending/ dosing
Blending/ Filling/ Loading field line up and verification
Sampling
Slop handling
Work permit/ job pack preparation activities
Month end stock count and batch/ month end variance investigation
Responsible for liaising with the Control Room Technician (CRT) and other Operations Technicians and contract workers in manufacturing operations, in accordance with work procedures and job safety requirements to ensure understanding of the execution per production schedule, safety, health, environmental, Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS), quality (ISO14001, ISO9001:2000, GPIMS), controls and security concerns.
Ensure that the receipts and usage of raw materials, blending, filling and loading activities are properly documented and maintained as per all necessary requirements.
Ensure correct quantity and on-spec raw materials are used for manufacturing per approved procedures and properly documented.
Coordinate the transfer of finished products to storage tanks, lines up the blending tank for blending operations and field line-up verifications.
Close coordination with supply planners, control room technicians and laboratory technicians for the manufacture of on-specification lubricant and grease products, following production schedule and update blend status.
Adhere to steps identified in established action plan to ensure consistent high First Time Blend Right (FTBR). Liaise closely with the laboratory and advise the Supervisor of any product quality problems.
Liaise with laboratory to ensure that blended products are within specification and take any necessary corrective measures when required, including the completing the reblend investigation report
Ensure that all blending equipment are in proper working order and report timely on any deficiencies and malfunction.
Perform daily preventive maintenance, inspection on blending equipment to ensure they are kept in good condition and to inform the supervisor of any deficiencies.
Perform minor repairs or equipment troubleshooting.
Ensure good housekeeping is observed for all blending equipment/areas, tank farm, pumps pad, additive receipt and bulk loading area, utility room and surrounding areas.
Conduct regular work area checks to spot potential equipment failures, spillage, and breach of security and safety requirements. Intervene when required and report all observations timely.
Participate in the plant’s safety programmes including member of Health and Safety Committee, carrying out LPO, LPSA, JLA, risk identification & assessment, and emergency response
Report any near misses/accidents to the Shift Supervisor immediately, follow-up with documentation and closure of action items.
Responsible for safe operations by observing good standards of housekeeping and safe working practices in work areas.
Ensure good standards of housekeeping are done regularly by the contract workers.
Ensure contract workers have completed induction program and competent to the assigned tasks.
Ensure plant equipment (including forklift and lifting devices) are correctly handled by contract workers.
Ensure that technicians and contract workers are familiar with the MSDS for materials handled in the plant and other hazards.
Ensure that all waste materials are disposed in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
From time to time, will be required to cover duties of Operations Technicians of the same job grouping including acting assignment for Lead Technicians. Be prepared to be reassigned to other functions of the same grouping in the terminal
Perform any other work assigned by the Supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Diploma Holder or GCE “O” Levels.
Willingness to work 12-hour shifts
Minimum 1 year experience in the petroleum industry
Experience in Lube Oil Blending Plant (LOBP) operations preferred but not essential.
Working knowledge of auto and conventional blending operation preferred but not essential
Working knowledge of English required
